What do I need to use VRNA in my lab?

VRNA needs an open space to move around, 10x10 square feet minimum, in addition to a stable connection to Wi-Fi.

How does VRNA training content align with state or certification requirements?

Accepted Answer

VRNA content aligns with the required state or certification standards for hands-on skills. The content included in VRNA is driven by what each state requires for Patient Care Technicians, Nurse Aides, Certified Nurse Assisting, and Emergency Medical Technician skills training. Each state sets forth different requirements and may update them with or without notice. VRNA on its own does not lead to a certification or other credential.

Is there a curriculum to follow when teaching with VRNA?

VRNA’s EMS and CNA modules are equipped with scenario-based learning experiences that do not require a specific learning curriculum. Optional lesson plans are available for VRNA CNA.

What are the Wi-Fi requirements?

A modern 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi network with good signal strength. Ensure your network’s firewall allows secure web traffic (HTTPS) to vrna.net and any subdomains (like *.vrna.net) through port 443. Note: networks with captive portals are not currently supported.

Can I use headsets I already have with VRNA?

No. VRNA EMS and CNA software modules are not available for use on separate, pre-owned, or alternative headset or hardware options.

Can I put additional software on my VRNA headsets?

Accepted Answer

No. VRNA headsets may only be used to access the VRNA EMS or CNA software modules and the settings menus required to support them. Web browsing, additional applications, or alternate functions are not supported.

Who can create student accounts?

Student accounts can be created by either the instructor or the students.

How are student accounts set up?

Note: Accounts can only be made while a license subscription is active.
Student accounts can be created in either one of two ways. Users will use the same account credentials to access the application as well as the reporting information found on the Performance Portal®.

1) Creating an account while using the headset (best for individual account setup):

Student accounts can be created while wearing the headset and in the VRNA CNA or EMS applications. Once in the application, use the virtual keyboard and monitor to create a new account. Follow the on-screen instructions, and enter the requested information (name or student ID and email address) to complete the account creation process.

2) Creating an account using Performance Portal® (best for bulk account setup):

Navigate to https://portal.vrna.net and select either the CNA or EMS application portal that corresponds to where you want to create a new user account. Locate the “Create New Account” tab. Enter the requested information to complete the account creation process. This method will request the student name or ID, email address, and the license key that was shared at time of purchase. If you do not know your student license key, please contact VRSim support.

Does VRNA require personal information?

VRNA does not require a student’s personally identifiable information. Where such information may be requested, the system is designed to support the use of alternative data. How is student data collection handled?

VRNA requests student information in order to create individual accounts for the express purposes of tracking and relaying performance progress to the student and instructor. Students will create an account which is used to track their performance progress through the applications content. This includes overall scenario performance, as well as scores in individual skills included in the scenarios. This information is collected and provided to both the student and associated instructor(s) through summative reports accessed on the Performance Portal®. What is included in the complimentary support and warranty?

Active VRNA licenses include complimentary tech-support. This includes unlimited access to self-serve support resources available on the Help section of the Performance Portal® and access to VRSim’s US-based tech support during regular business hours.

The Limited Warranty covers software updates, fixes, or improvements (subject to availability).

Can I purchase a single VRNA headset and application license?
