VR Skills Training for Nurse Aides, Patient Care, and First Responders

Voted 'Most Innovative' in 2024 and earned the 'Wave of Innovation' title in 2025 at the LeadingAge Connecticut Annual Expo

"VRNA was really the only solution we could find that met our needs for virtual reality training, and students have loved the engaging, real-world scenarios VRNA offers."

- Brandi White, EMT-B Instructor

“The students have been making incredible progress, especially with the VRNA EMS simulations. It’s been a game-changer in helping them build real-world skills in a safe, engaging environment. I’m excited about the potential they’re showing and the direction we’re headed.”

- Chris DeRosa, Bullard-Havens Technical High School

“Students look at getting to work with VRNA [CNA] as a sort of reward, not realizing that I am using it as a ‘summative practice’. They WANT to learn each individual skill well enough to advance to VRNA practice.”

- Victoria Huber, Central Westmoreland Career and Technology Center

“For our first responders and trainees, VRSim’s game-changing system will allow our medical responders to efficiently build valuable experience and expertise, utilizing scenarios in a highly realistic and controlled virtual environment. Ultimately sharpening their life-saving skills and abilities for when they’re called upon and needed in the real world.”

- Michael Purcaro, Town Administrator, Vernon

“It’s going to give students a better understanding of the skills that they need in order to finish the state- and national-level certification tests.”

- Chris DeRosa, Bullard-Havens Technical High School

“It seems to be a less intimidating learning environment for them, and they see it as a fun activity.”

 - Nicole Lotito, Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School

“We need to train and field a new generation of EMS providers, and this is going to help us do that”

- Ben Zura, EMT

“Letting students explore these careers in an engaging, interactive way helps them connect the dots between what they’re learning in school and what they could do in the future.”

- Kay Landon, RN

Learn Healthcare Skills in VR

VRNA uses a fully immersive virtual reality experience to increase the effectiveness and lower the cost of teaching patient care and emergency medical skills. Available in two different modules: VRNA CNA and VRNA EMS, the system functions as a supplement to lab and field instruction. Programs using VRNA are able to reduce the material and preparatory burdens on instructors while keeping learners engaged, providing an independent and practical method of learning the hands-on skills needed for career certifications.

Faster, Safer, & Cost-Effective

Using a standard VR headset, VRNA offers a simulated environment where users can practice and develop the skills needed for their chosen career path. VRNA guides and evaluates users as they perform essential job skills step-by-step. As they practice, VRNA provides individual feedback and assessments that are immediately shared with instructors. This immersive and interactive tool provides a realistic and safe environment for users to gain hands-on experience, improve skills competency, and enhance overall job-readiness for real-world medical scenarios.

Hear from one of our VRNA EMS users about how helpful and impactful the system has been for their training program, even helping the students to place in their state SkillsUSA competition.
